2 Powerful Ways To Get Started With Video Marketing Without Sitting In Front Of Your Camera
Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 02:50PM Video in your marketing is best described as a high-octane high-caliber weapon in an arsenal of internet marketing tools because it's incredibly effective.
You can build a relationship with your prospects without actually sitting in front of them or talking to them on the phone. Your videos act as super-star employees that work for you 24/7 and never call in sick. And the search engines favor videos more because they appeal to a majority of their audience (people with really short attention spans).
But...There’s a common misconception when it comes to video marketing, most people believe the only way to create video is to sit in front of the camera.
And for a majority of beginners, sitting in front of a camera for the first time is like staring Medusa right in the eyes (basically turning you into stone).
But don’t worry, you’re about to learn two ways to avoid the camera completely and still create awesome videos.
How To Create Powerful Information Videos
The first alternative to video paralysis is to create PowerPoint presentations and narrate the slides as you move through them. PowerPoint presentations are a very effective way to cover a lot of information without having to demonstrate anything to your audience.
If you want to tell your audience about a new copy writing technique and how it’s going to help them to reach their audience on an emotional level, you can do that through a PowerPoint presentation video. The power behind a presentation is that your audience can actually see and hear what you're talking about which appeals to two dominant learning styles.
Some of your audience will be visual learners others are auditory learners and with PowerPoint video you can reach both.
In order to create a PowerPoint presentation video you have to have screen capture software, and one of the best programs available is Camtasia Studio. Camtasia will allow you to record whatever you’re doing on your screen, narrate what’s going on, edit your video, add transitions, add credits and upload it directly to Youtube with a host of different video formats.
You’ll need to do all of those things for the second alternative to sitting in front of the camera, videos through demonstration.
How To Create Step-by-Step Videos
Demonstration videos or step-by-step videos are extremely powerful because you can literally show your audience how to do something which will allow them to follow along with your video. Creating videos like these will boost your credibility through the roof with your audience because you’re providing them with an education.
For example, let’s continue with copy writing (which is nothing more than the words on a lead capture page or the words in a Google Ad). You’ve already created a video on how to tap into the emotions of your audience through strong copy, but you have a great example you’d like to analyze piece by piece.
This is where Camtasia studio comes in handy.
When you pull up the webpage with the amazing copy you can record your entire screen and narrate what makes that copy so powerful. With Camtasia you can use your mouse as a pen or highlighter and as you’re talking you can highlight or circle whatever you want to while you’re talking.
The big takeaway for your audience is that they can see what great copy looks like and through your guidance they can digest why it’s so great.
This is just ONE example of how to use Camtasia to create demonstration videos, you can also teach your audience how to use tools, like Camtasia Studio. Once you learn how to use the program, create a video teaching your audience how to use a certain aspect of Camtasia.
The possibilities are literally endless with demonstration videos, if there’s anything you want to show your audience creating a step-by-step video is the best way to accomplish that. There are more advanced ways of creating videos too, like combining PowerPoint with demonstration videos to give your message a little more depth. Or another advanced way is to add a third element to your video and create a picture-in-picture video while narrating PowerPoint and doing a little demonstration (this of course will be an option when you become comfortable with the camera).
But if you start with creating PowerPoint presentations and demonstration videos you’re not only going to easily transition to winning the battle against Medusa but you’re going to unleash creativity that you didn’t know you possessed.

The Internet provides great opportunities for entrepreneurs and small businesses, but doing business online presents unique challenges and requires new skills. Per my experience search engine optimization would be the best practice to improve your online business.
Nice post. I learned many more about internal marketing strategies with this post. thanks for posting.
These are good alternatives to using a camcorder. I have used PowerPoint slides and Camtasia screencasts to create video advertisements that I submit to Adwido. By the way OpenOffice's presentation software is a good alternative to PowerPoint.
