A Couple Tips On How To Rank High In Youtube

By Vesone Dean

There are many things that contribute to a high ranking video on Youtube: the amount of comments, how many times it’s been put in somebody’s favorites, the ratings, the views and how long people stick around and watch your entire video.

However, in order for all those things to happen you have to put your content in front of the people who are looking for it, because if they can’t find it, your audience won’t know that you exist.

To understand how to rank your videos on Youtube without having a ton of comments and ratings, you have to understand how search engines work in general.

Don’t worry; this will be quick and painless.

Video search engines, like Youtube, find content based on how their audience perceives it, if people love the video, rate it highly and it has a ton of views, the search engine will bring those videos up first in the search results. But when the search engines find a new video they can’t go off of the community response because there isn’t one yet.

Youtube also can’t watch every new video uploaded to determine how relevant it is to the search terms people are looking for, so it has to use another way to determine whether your content is relevant enough to rank high for your given search terms and that’s through the description.

The video description has become a lost art when it comes to video marketing, and there are two dominant extremes when it comes to people using the description area in their videos.

Most people will put a few words and a link to their website, just to fulfill the obligation of having to have something in the description area, or they use the super secret FBI Bruce Lee ninja techniques.

Basically they look up their keyword in Google, copy all of the text for the first ten results, replace all the links with their own and paste that in the description (if you ever see a video on Youtube that has a bunch of stuff that doesn’t make sense that’s probably what they did).

But you don’t have to make things harder than they have to be. Simplicity is key in ranking high on Youtube.

Write your video description almost like you would write an article; make sure you do some adequate keyword research, fill your description with your relevant keywords and write it so that it flows naturally.

For example, if your business is focused around the dog training niche than talk about that in your description. You can start by going to Google and doing your research, for free, right on the Google search bar.

In the picture, you can see that when you start typing in dog training, other popular terms come up as well which you can then use in your description.

If you do a video on a dog training collar, there are at least 3 keywords just in the picture. Your description could go something like this:

“In the 1st video of our ‘dog training equipment’ series we talk about how to effectively use a dog training collar. If used incorrectly a dog training collar could have the reverse effect on your dog, resulting in more of the same behavior you want to eliminate.

That’s a very short description and it’s not really complete but you should get the idea, there are at least 4 keywords in that description. So, when the search engine spiders move from left to right checking for keywords to determine how relevant your video is they’re going to run into those keywords over again.

Your video description is just as important as your video content so treat it like a separate article and you’ll notice that your videos not only rank high on Youtube, they’ll also stay there for a while.

Remote Shock Collars are one of the most effective, simplest and most humane training aids available. Remote Shock Collars are placed on a dog's neck, allowing a trainer to deliver small static corrections of varying strength by remote control. The correction the dog gets from the remote dog training collar is no different than static from walking on carpet. The benefits of working with a remote dog training collar is the trainer can immediately correct a dog's mistakes at a distance far greater than leash training allows. A Shock Collar is a safe, effective and humane way to train your dog.
