ZoomIT is a free screen zoom tool that has many features that can help you create a professional video or use it during a live webinar. You can use this tool in combination to zoom in with Camstudio, a free screen capture tool. In this article we will discuss the various features of ZoomIT along with some ways to use these in your videos and presentations.

Zoom Feature

The main feature of this tool is the Zoom feature. When creating videos for youtube or other video sharing sites you have to keep in mind that your viewer might not be watching the video on their full screen. In these cases some of the writing on your screen might not be readable to them. If there is something important on your screen you can use the Zoom feature to give viewers a clearer view of the text. For example, if you are going to a website and you want the viewer to be able to see the name then you could zoom in to the URL at the top of the page.

To put the tool into zoom mode you can enter “Alt +A” or change the keys in options panel. The zoom feature can also be controlled so that you can zoom further in or out once you have toggled into zoom mode. This can be done by moving your mouse wheel if you have one or using the up and down arrow keys. Note that in this mode you can not make any changes to other open applications on your screen like Internet Explorer or Firefox.

Type Feature

There is an option that allows you to make notes on your screen. The text size can be controlled with the wheel on the mouse or the up and down arrow keys. The text will appear on your screen in green and can be changed to blue, orange, yellow, or pink.

Use this feature to make notes on your screen wherever you need or use it for your presentation with the sketch pad where you can use the entire screen like a chalkboard to draw and write on.

Draw Feature

The Draw feature allows you to do various things on your screen. You can underline parts of your screen or draw arrows. There is also an option for you to draw rectangles and ellipses. The rectangles or ellipses are useful if you want to circle something on your screen or encapsulate it in a square. If you are reviewing an article you can underline certain words you are calling attention to. These are only a few ways you can use the draw feature.

Sketch pad

Turn your screen into a chalkboard with the sketch pad. Now you can use all the draw and text options together to make diagrams on your screen live to help users visualize the message you are trying to get across and make it more interactive than a Powerpoint presentation.
