Meta Tags Description in Your Web Page

Meta Tags, Title Tags,….all these technical SEO secrets!
What is a Meta tag description, and how important is it that you know what it is and you have one?
Like most search engine optimization training will teach you, it’s fairly important that you have as many search engine optimization aspects as possible in place. All of your SEO efforts work together to produce content that is easily found by humans and the search engines, and is optimized to “get the click”.
Your Meta tag description influences the way the search engines list and index your web pages.
The html part of the Meta Tag description is an unseen component that is placed in the “Head” of your web pages. Since it is not viewed by your visitors and is placed in your web pages’ html code, I consider it to be an SEO secret.
The Meta Tags description go in between the <HEAD> and </HEAD> tags. Title tags, Meta tags description and Meta keywords will all be found in between the <HEAD> tags on your web page; shown in the picture here.
*Note: You can go to the top of your browser; click “View”, click “Page Source”, and see the header code for the web page you’re viewing.
In the example, see the “<Meta name = description”? That’s your Meta tag, or description of your web page you’ll want to type in after “content =”; up to about 150 characters, or about 25 words. You can include a much longer description, up to about 85 words, but it may lessen your chances of Google using your description.
Not everyone uses a Meta Tag description, or has a good one worth viewing in the search engine listings, or understands why or how it’s useful.
We see the Meta tag description when we view a listing in the search engines, like in the example shown. Notice how clear and concise the meta tag description is on exactly what dog training information is covered.
Even after we use all these SEO secrets, we’re really never sure what Google will do with them, but whatever is used, we want to be a clear and concise description of our site.
What happens if you don’t use a Meta tag description?
Some search engines will pull from the first few lines of your page. That’s not always a good idea.
Besides using the shortened Meta tag description, there are other SEO secrets you can use to have your Meta tags put to good use. Just like your title tag, you’ll want your Meta tag description to be strong, accurate, and unique to your site; using keywords and a call to action.
It’s a lot of thought to put in one little description but can end with you getting the click, or not. It would be extremely helpful to find an Internet Training Program to teach you all aspects of Internet Network Marketing, along with all these SEO secrets!
