Tracy Biller: Network Marketing Training Program for Today’s MLM?

Is Tracy Biller’s marketing philosophy and network marketing training still relevant in the Internet age?
Will Tracy Biller’s training help you quickly build your network marketing business?
Before giving you my opinion on Tracy Biller’s training program, let me digress a little…..
Power Recruiting
About four or five years ago I was actively trying to build my MLM Network Marketing business when I received a postcard in the mail offering a free cassette tape entitled “Power Recruiting Tape”. The postcard stated that this tape would change how I marketed my network marketing business.
Hey, it was free, what did I have to lose?
About two weeks later I received the Power Recruiting cassette tape in the mail and immediately listened to it.
I was captivated!
Never had I had network marketing explained to me this way. It was a real eye opener. I heard terms such as “targeted market”, “genealogy leads”, and “90-day blitz” for the first time.
Naturally the first thing I did was contact my downline and tell them they had to listen to this fantastic tape. It would change their network marketing experience forever.
We promptly got together and ordered a genealogy leads list, practiced Tracy’s 30-second script and started calling our target market (other network marketers).
This is when we hit a snag.
At this time I would like to answer question number one because it answers why we hit a snag calling our genealogy list.
Is Tracy Biller’s network marketing training program still relevant in the Internet age?
My answer to that is YES.
The core of Tracy Biller’s training program is that network marketers are not taught who their target market really is. The majority are told to make a list of their warm market (people they know) and call them.
While other network marketers may have known who their target market was, Tracy Biller was probably the first to put it into a system and teach other network marketers specifically how to approach their target market for lead generation.
So, why did we hit a snag?
Genealogy Lists: Your Target Market?
In my opinion we were not really calling our target market.
Genealogy leads are not your target market, as Tracy Biller teaches.
Think about it. Genealogy leads lists consist of everyone who registered with that specific network marketing company. Is everyone registered with your company interested in a network marketing business? Is everyone in your downline interested in building a network marketing business?
I would say that the majority of people in your company and in your downline are NOT interested in a network marketing business.
My guess would be that the majority of people in your company and downline joined so that they could purchase your product or service at member’s price, instead of the retail price
Does this make Tracy Biller’s training irrelevant?
No, you have to remember that Tracy’s training tape was made before the Internet had developed into what it is today.
Calling a genealogy leads list was the only way to sort through those members who were interested in a network marketing business and those who were only interested in the product or service.
Unfortunately, this makes calling a genealogy leads list only a little better than calling opportunity seekers. If you can develop your phone skills and don’t mind making thousands of phone calls, you can build your MLM business this way.
So this now brings us to the second question:
Will Tracy Biller’s training program help build your network marketing business?
Again my answer is YES.
Now we have the Internet and instead of calling genealogy list you can use the Internet to attract those who are looking for what product, service, or business opportunity you have to offer.
Magnetic Sponsoring by Mike Dillard essentially took the principles of Tracy Biller’s training and applied it to attraction marketing.
The Renegade Network Marketer by Ann Sieg and Renegade University founded by Mike Klingler have further developed target marketing to a very effective Internet system of social media marketing.
I feel that the Internet, specifically Web 2.0 attraction marketing, takes Tracy Biller’s training to the next level, to your true target market.
