What is Affiliate Network Marketing?

One of the newest ways to build a network marketing business is to adopt an affiliate network marketing business model. This is a business model that combines both affiliate marketing and network marketing.

Affiliate network marketing is certainly not new to the network marketing industry. It has been practiced ever since the old Amway days. The top ranked Independent Business Owners would strike affiliate deals with personal development speakers and authors. They would then promote their materials to their organization for a cut of the profits.

Many of the top leaders in the motivational and self improvement industry got their start with this business model. For instance, before Robert Kiyosaki became a New York Times best selling author, his books were promoted by leaders in Amway.

How Does Affiliate Network Marketing Work?


Affiliate network marketing does two things. First, it brings this arrangement online. The internet makes it significantly easier to incorporate this business model because of the ability to use software to track sales and commissions.

Second, it makes this business model available to the average distributor. Typically only the top leaders in the company were able to participate in these types of joint affiliate agreements. With the internet, any distributor can set up this type of arrangement.

So how does affiliate network marketing work? With this business model, you pretty much have two primary streams of income. The first stream of income comes from building your network marketing business.

As you continue to sell product, recruit new distributors and teach them how to do the same, you will earn commissions from your primary network marketing company. You currently do this in traditional network marketing and this doesn’t change.

However, with affiliate network marketing, there is a second stream of income that is introduced to the business model, making it more powerful. In addition to the income you earn from your network marketing business, you also have the ability to earn affiliate commissions.

Earn Money Even From People Who Don’t Join Your Network Marketing Company!

How do you earn affiliate commissions? There are a number of products and services that you can promote that are related to the market that you are currently prospecting for your network marketing business.

For instance, the most common example of this would be distributors who prospect network marketers. Prior to affiliate network marketing, the only way you could earn money from another network marketer was if he or she joined your organization.

With affiliate network marketing you can promote products and services that will help that distributor build his or her own network marketing business. If that distributor purchases those products and services you earn a commission on that sale.

Do you see the power in that? You can literally earn money even if the person doesn’t join your business or become a customer! As long as they purchase a product that you recommend, you still are able to earn a great income.

Affiliate Network Marketing Doesn’t Take A Lot of Extra Work!

What makes this business model so great is that it doesn’t take a lot of extra work. There are many leaders that advocate creating a funded proposal where you can earn money by selling products you create to your prospects.

The problem with that model is that it takes more work. You have to create a product, learn how to market and drive traffic, learn how to write copy and learn all of the skills necessary to sell online, along with the skills necessary to build your organization.

With affiliate network marketing, all you have to do is send an email with the product you are promoting to all of the leads that you are currently already generating for your business. The product owner does the rest and you get paid!
